How to print your Instagram memories with Picture Postie

Picture Postie prints are available from all Smart Phones, Instagram & Flikr accounts Pricing ranges from $0.39 - $5.99 per print. www.picturepostie.com.au

In the era of instant smart phones with photos only a touch screen swipe away the memories are often lost when a phone is left on a bus or accidentally dropped in the washing up sink.
Here is a big question when was the last time you had a roll of film developed? I've missed photographs in the physical form being a part of my life, the excitement of holding an image which conjures up beautiful memories of an event, time, place or friend.
Picture Postie is a brilliant service which via their app or website allows you to order prints of photos that are saved on your smart phone or from your Instagram or Flickr account. The prints range in sizes but for Instagram images I would advise the 10x10cm size and they can even print onto a canvas!
Picture Postie, selected random photos from my Instagram account to send to me, which came as a total surprise in the mail. A couple of the images printed were of me with my Grandmother who had sadly passed away 2 weeks prior, I burst into tears because the photos were so special. Because of my rapid uploading to Instagram I had forgotten the photos had even been taken. They are now framed and sit on the mantle alongside photos which were taken the traditional way not looking the slightest bit out of place.

Thank you Picture Postie for the beautiful prints, I cannot wait to order some more in the future.

NAIL WEEK!! Day 5 : Nail Trends #sohotrightnow

Bright precisely polished classic nails are back but in a slightly more 90's way, with bright fuschia toned pinks and brick reds trending hard. Simple mono-chrome designs which don't distract too much from an outfit but compliment or contrast as a pop of colour are also popular on the tumblr-sphere.

Gilded Gold nails are HOT HOT HOT right now, from foils and wraps to chrome polishes and a sneaky accent nails. Miley 'put your tounge away' Cyrus started the biggest trend in nails right now with her gold foiled extensions whilst on her Bangerz tour. I am totally into this trend because gold matches with just about everything in my wardrobe, when wearing it your nails feel like they are an extension of your jewelry.

From cute Minnie Mouse tips to tumblr gif's Nail Art is still as popular as ever, and the best thing is that there are designs to match your every outfit and mood. My favourite is the nail piercing trend which Floss Gloss has featured on Instagram recently, but my first memory of nail piercing was when Posh Spice donned one in the late 90's. #poshspice4eva

NAIL WEEK!! Day 4 : New O.P.I Collections SPOTLIGHT ON GLITTER & SHEER TINTS

O.P.I has two new releases out which have got me super excited - Sheer Tints & Spotlight on Glitter! They are a break from the celebrity collections and are a must for any nail polish addict.

Sheer Tint's are a jelly formula polish, thicker than a standard polish but with only a slightly longer dry time. These were a bit tricky on the first application (as you can see there are a few overlaps and bumps on my nails above.) but I asked one of my favourite nail bloggers Maria from So Nailicious for her advice on the Sheer Tints :
- Always apply a white base coat before the sheer tint.
- Use a small fine tip paint brush to do your sheer tint nail art because the formula is too thick on the brush that comes in the bottle.
I followed these tips and found them very useful - Thanks Maria!
The daisy design worked best because of the white polish peaking through, I love the cute water colour effect it gave to the design. Next I am going to try and do a tartan/plaid design building up opacity, like Maria featured on her blog.
OPI Sheer Tint Nail Polish Colours $19.95each available from www.davidjones.com.au

From left to right: Chasing Rainbows, Desperately Seeking Sequin, Blush Hour, Rose of Light & I Reached My Gold.

Glitter hasn't slowed down on the nail trend-o-meter, but I have found that the trend has moved to placement glitter. With the most popular being a glitter french tip or gradient glitter moving up from the cuticle base of the nail to the tip, rather than the traditional glitter topcoat look.

OPI Spotlight on Glitter Nail Polish Colours $19.95each available from www.davidjones.com.au

'I Reached My Gold' - The most chunky of the glitters features gold hexagonal yellow gold glitter with smaller confetti silver and gold pieces.

'You Pink Too Much' - Very pretty small shimmer based rose pink glitter with silver accents.

'Rose of Light' - Rose Gold and light pink shimmer fine glitter, highly reflective.

'Blush Hour' - The only tinted base colour, sheer fuchsia base with purple glitter pieces and silver shimmer accents.

'Chasing Rainbows' - If you didn't get your hands on the coveted 'Rainbow Connection' this is an amazing dupe/update without the hype. It is party confetti on your nails.

'Desperately Seeking Sequin' - If this was a nail polish was a person it would be Diana Ross, an amazing silver streamer shimmer combo which gives amazing rainbow reflection.

Nail Week! Day 3 MATCHY-MATCHY! Matching your nails to your eyeliner.....#trendalert!

Becca Ultimate Créme Liner $40.00 available from www.beccacosmetics.com.au and OPI 'I sing in colour' Nail Polish $19.95 available from www.davidjones.com.au

I woke up this morning (#notlikedis!) and wanted to completely switch it up with my makeup, sick of my regular simple makeup. So searching around my makeup collection I decided to try out a hot new makeup trend: MATCHING MY NAILS TO MY EYELINER! Instead of going with a bright look, I toned it down and went for a warming winter shade of deep plum - purples are so hot right now!
Becca's Ultimate Créme Liner is a deep plum which is amazing at bringing out the blue in my eyes. The liner is very easy to apply, and was deep in colour and didn't take too much tidying up.
OPI's 'I sing in colour' was a limited edition release as part of the Gwen Stefani collection which is still available online and instore. The shade feels like an update to everyone's favourite 'Linkin Park after dark, a mulberry based dark which looks close to black in most lights but in the sun it is very much a wine based dark red. It is a beautiful colour and would be a great new option if you are a dark polish devotee for you regular mani/pedi.
I love this trend and next time I might even experiment with something a little more on the bright side! Stay tuned.

Vogue Nippon, Nasty Gal, Barbara Palvin and Kenzo! Lovin' this #trendalert!

NAIL WEEK! Day 2 : Half-Moon Nail Art with Mary-Kay Nail Lacquers

Nail Week : Day 2 is all about wearable nail art trends, a favourite staple in the nail art trends over the past few seasons is the Half-Moon design. It is classic and very versatile, by switching the colours you can create different seasonal combos and tonal variations. Ok let's do this!
Mary-Kay Nail Lacquers in Mulberry Forest and Enchanted Mauve $15.00 each available from www.marykay.com.au

If you follow me on instagram @beautegazette you would have seen my rave reviews of the Mary Kay Nail Lacquers, they are phenomenal colours and super fast drying. Combining the soft ballet nude of Enchanted Mauve with the rich Mulberry Forest gives a very polished yet edgy look to the nails and the colour combination is perfect for the cooler winter months. Both of the colours are from Mary Kay's new Fairy Tales and Fantasy collection, which is now available online from their website - gone are the days of waiting for a consultant it is now only a few clicks away.

STEP 1:
Paint your nude base coat 'Enchanted Mauve' is a great base as it has a very quick dry time, which is what you want when you are layering colours for nail art designs.
STEP 2:
Pour out a small pea size amount of 'Mulberry Forrest' on a disposable piece of paper, this is the polish you will use for the half moons.
STEP 3:
Using a small fine tipped craft brush map out the Half-Moon shape in 'Mulberry Forest', outlining the semi circle. Take your time to be neat and precise.
STEP 4:
Fill in the Half- Moon semi circles with polish, this will take 2 coats. Leave the first coat to dry before starting the second coat otherwise it will all gloop together on your nail.
STEP 5:
Once your nails have completely dried, clean up your cuticles with a cotton tip soaked in nail polish remover. Then apply your favourite Topcoat to make your amazing new nails last a little longer and add some mega shine!

NAIL WEEK!! Day 1: Rimmel's new Salon Pro by Kate Nail Polishes

Rimmel Salon Pro by Kate Nail Polishes $8.95 each available from www.priceline.com.au

Rimmel Salon Pro polishes are one of the best nail polish formulations on the market, high and budget beauty included. The brush is wide enough to cover nails with colour in 2 strokes, applying polish evenly without streaking. The finish is always opaque in 2 coats - no matter the colour and dry time is about 10mins touch dry 30mins bump dry. The colour selection is a standard mix of trend colours, nothing ground breaking in terms of chromes or texture but all the colours are pretty and very wearable.

Rimmel Salon Pro by Kate Nail Polishes $8.95 each available from www.priceline.com.au

The new range of colours for Summer 2014 (that is Summer in the UK, it is winter for Australians) is filled with great poppy feminine colours, here are my top 4 colour picks:

444: SEDUCE
Purple is having a big come back in the beauty world with many of the high-end spring/summer collections injecting purple into eye shadow palettes, liners and mascaras. I like to team my nail polish to my eye look and have been loving the smokey purple of Seduce. Purple was also Prince's signature colour and I am a massive Prince fangirl 'purple rain, purple rain'!
125: OH, MR DARCY
This is a beautiful fleshy nude, which is almost gel like in appearance on the nails, it is full coverage in 2 coats but keeps a translucent depth to the finish. Very posh and proper, I could see it on the nails of the Made in Chelsea cast especially that snooty Victoria.
264: TEMPTRESS
Ever since Lisa Eldridge wore a bright fuchsia nail with her green rings in a tutorial I have been obsessed with bold pink nails. They're more fun and girly than a standard red nail but give the same pop of bright colour to the nails, pink looks great on all skin tones and hair colours too.
115: HAPPILY EVER AFTER
Orange based reds have been HOT! on the nail-o-meter for the past 2 seasons, and they aren't slowing down. As it is winter in Oz I would stick to using Happily Ever After as for a pedicure colour but if you are in a warmer country then dare to wear this bright hot orange on your fingers and toes.

Going to skin school for Dermalogica's new #facemapnation campaign.

Dermalogica #facemapnation

#Facemapnation is Dermalogica's new Australia wide campaign to educate the nation about our skin's health. Using a combination of ancient Chinese diagnosis and modern skin therapies, Dermalogica will map your face and analyse your skin under bright lights and a very scientific looking set of magnifying glasses to find out which area's are causing concern. After you skin has been assessed you will be taught how to use their products combined with a healthy lifestyle to boost your skins health.
To learn more about the campaign Dermalogica sent me back to skin school, scrap what I thought I knew about my skin and start fresh. Skin school is a lot relaxing than normal school because you get to have facial, yep way better than a boring uni lecture! My skin lesson was with the super beautiful and knowledgeable Skye from Dermalogica, who was an amazing teacher answering all my big and little questions. All Dermalogica therapists have been trained to know about any skin woe you might have, you will definitely be in safe and knowledgeable hands at whichever spa or counter you visit to get face mapped. Here are a few of my favourite things I learnt during my time at skin school:

- Even though my skin is quite oily it is dehydrated, especially across my forehead which I need to keep hydrated at all times to prevent premature lines forming.
- Being shown how to use the products is so beneficial, far better than buying a product online and then just rubbing it in any which way.
-To make your gel cleanser work most effectively work add water to it so it becomes bubbly and this lifts any dirt or make up off your skin rather than working a straight gel into your skin which clogs pores.
-Include your ears and neck when you cleanse and moisturise! The poor ears and neck get left out of your skin care regime but they need some lovin' too.
-Facial massage will tighten your facial muscles and I would much prefer a massage to a face lift. -Using a combination of light and oxygen therapies on my skin brightened my complexion of any old blemish scaring and dark spots.
-Being taught how to use products is what you miss out on when buying products online, and I really have noticed a difference to my skin since I have implimented all of the tips I was given.
-Dermalogica facials are amazing! Totally worth the splurge, my skin was glowing for weeks after.

These are the products which Skye recommended for me to start incorporating into skin care routine and my skin has been loving them:

CLEANSING:
This cleanser is life changing, for reals! Combining the Special Cleansing Gel with the new and improved the way I wash my face, I'm pretty much ruling at the cleansing game!

Wowzers! I would never have picked this product for my skin, but I absolutely love it. The physical  exfoliation of rubbing the beads on your face whilst the warming sensation of the chemical exfoliant gets rid of any dead skin. My skin feels polished smooth after using this product.

HYDRATING:
I have tried this masque and loved it in the past but had forgotten how amazing it was also I was only previously applying it once in a while or whilst on long haul flights. As advised by my amazing Dermalogica Therapist Skye, I have been applying it 2-3 times a week for 1hour at a time after cleansing it has zapped moisture into my skin.

I'm officially converted to hydrating facial mists after staring at Skye's beautifully hydrated glowing skin during my facial at Dermalogica, I asked her what was her favourite product was and she said it was the Ultracalming Mist which she sprays on her face throughout the day and after cleansing, then again post moisturising to lock in the moisture.

How do you get YOUR face mapped by Dermalogica?
Either book into your local Dermalogica Spa or Counter for a one on one consultation with an amazing therapist who will advise you on personalised treatments and products for your skins need. Speed Mapping is also available online HERE! by answering a few questions about your skin, your answers are analysed and products are recommended to treat all your skin concerns.

It's all about eyes .... OBAGI ELASTIderm Eye Serum and Treatment Cream

OBAGI Medical ELASTIderm Eye Serum $99.00 and Eye Treatment Cream $99.00 available from

Eye creams, serums and gels dominate a large area of the skin care market with advertising being blasted at you every time you open a magazine or read your favourite websites but do you really need to use one? YES YOU DO!
Here is a very simple explanation on why, you have oil glands all over your face and body which keep your skin naturally hydrated, oil glands plump the skin so that fine lines are not as visible. There are a few places where you do not have natural oil glands one being your eye area, there are also far few layers of skin in your eye area. This is the reason fine lines appear first around your eyes, because the skin is thinner and not as hydrated naturally. The best defence for keeping lines from appearing is to keep the area hydrated and plumped with as much moisture as possible, by using super hydrating eye creams and serums.
Two of my favourite line-fighting eye products are from a comeceutical brand Obagi which I first heard about on Wayne Goss's amazingly informative YouTube channel. The eye treatment cream I apply in the mornings after cleansing - before my daily moisturiser and at night before applying night cream, it is extremely light weight on the skin and is undetectable when applying makeup over the top. The Obagi Eye Serum is extremely cooling and I love applying it to tired eyes in the morning, it really brightens and tightens the under eye area.
I have been using both of these products combined for a month and have found that they give great moisture and hydration to the eye area and the best thing is they do not peel when makeup is applied over the top of them. If you like many have skipped an eye cream in your daily moisturising routine now is the time to change and you will definitely notice a difference at any age.

Benefit's NEW They're Real Push-up Liner Review

They're Real Liner $35.00, Mascara $38.00 and Remover $25.00 all available from Benefit Counters Australia Wide and www.benefitcosmetics.com from 20th June.

Benefit is about to change the eye liner game with the release of their new They're Real Push Up Liner, it is the perfect partner in crime to pair with the They're Real Mascara : a winged eye a killer combo!
The liner is the first of its kind, a gel liner in a push up pen form with a rubberised flexible angled tip called 'accuflex' it really does allow you to get closer to the lash line and pushes lashes out of the way when lining the eye.
The real test of a liner is wear time, I suffer from oily-lids and a liner will never stay put for longer than an hour. Below is my trial diary of the They're Real Liner on my first day of wear, get ready my life is super exciting.....I wish more like more boring than normcore!

8.30am - APPLICATION
Applying the liner is a bit tricky on the first eye, it sets VERY QUICKLY you have to work fast. I do one quick line across my lash line which is easy with the width of the tip, then I start the flick separately.
Once the liner has set you cannot go over its again otherwise it pulls and peels slightly. So quick and precise is the way to go. I neaten up the flicks by putting a tiny amount of the They're Real Remover on a cotton tip and taking any smudges away.

9.15am - FIRST COMPLIMENT!
Barista at my local coffee shop says 'You look foxy today' I bat my eyes and he gives me a wink! It must be my very saucy winged liner, right?! Then I think this must be how Alexa Chung feels everyday..

10.45am - MIRROR CHECK
Usually by this time I have some transfer onto my brow bones from liner, I am shocked that the liner is staying put. My oily eyelids have met their match finally.

2.00pm - TIRED EYES
Shit I accidental rubbed my eyes, tired from staring at my laptop for hours on end. *runs to bathroom mirror* my liner is perfect! Not smudged one bit.

Looking oh so Bardot teaming my winged liner with a stripy tee and leather biker jacket.

6.30pm - WATCHING OFFSPRING
I am a Nina Proudman super fan and once again I am left clutching my teacup, tears rolling down my cheeks with the Patrick visions. I pop to the bathroom to get some tissues, my liner is fine! It has started to wear slightly in shape and if I was going out I would touch it up but it is has survived an episode of Offspring! THIS LINER IS AMAZING!

8.45PM - REMOVAL
Throughout the day I have been slightly scared about removing the liner because of its endurance. I follow the directions and use a pea size amount of the They're Real Remover on my fingers as I very gently massage it into my lash line, I can feel the liner peeling away. I rinse with warm water....OHMYGOD panda eyes!!! I used a bit more of the Remover on cotton rounds and work it off, it takes a little while but it does come off. A normal gel cleanser would not get this baby off at all.
They're Real Liner $35.00, Mascara $38.00 and Remover $25.00 all available from Benefit Counters Australia Wide and www.benefitcosmetics.com from 20th June.

Props to Benefit for creating such an amazing innovative product, it is a must have for all eyeliner addicts. It did take a few attempts to get used to but it was easy once I got it the feel for the product, I am still amazed by the wear time and am definitely putting it on my products that can go the distance at events like weddings or birthdays. Check it out at a counter and ask one of the lovely Bene-babes to show you how the new liner works, it is an incredible product.

SCOUT Natural Australian Made Mineral Makeup and Organic Skincare

From top left to bottom left Nail Lacquer in Truly Madly Deeply (Gold) November Rain (Silver) $19.95 each, Mineral Lipstick in Delight (Pink), Autumn Wish (Dark Red) and Excite (Shimmery Plum) $35.95 each, Nail Lacquer in Are you Gonna Go My Way (Mauve) Invisible Touch (Beige) $19.95 each Duel Base and Top Coat and Never Tear us Apart (Wine) $19.95 Mineral Blush in Sincerity $49.95 all available from www.scoutcosmetics.com or your local health emporium

The biggest request and questions I get from readers and friends is about natural/organic skincare and makeup, because it is very important too them. Curious for an alternative to big cosmetic giants and petrochemicals which are found in many mass marketed makeup and skincare products. The increase in #cleanliving is also a reason people are searching for other options in their beauty routines. If you are on a strict vegetarian, vegan or paleo diet then you should be caring as much about what you on your face as you put in your mouth.
Scout is an Australian made and owned mineral makeup and organic skincare brand, who are committed to natural beauty. With four product ranges; Mineral Makeup, Organic Skincare and Brushes which you can pick up at your local heath food emporium or online. Every Scout product must have 3 very important and impressive attributes:

       • It must be made in Australia from only the highly quality certified organic and natural ingredients;
It must be formulated by experts and manufactured to exacting Australian and international standards; and
Most of all, it must be effective in looking after your skin, enhancing your natural beauty and be a delight to use.

My favourite of the products is the 5 Free Nail Laquer Luxe Eco Beauty, it is fantastic to apply becoming opaque in 2 coats but it is necessary to use the top coat as it has a very matte finish without it. It is also a favourite because a lot of my friends are either pregnant or breast feeding at the moment and if you didn't know standard nail polishes can be harmful for expecting mothers or new mothers. So now my friends who have babes on board can have bomb-ass sassy nails just like the rest of us, and won't miss out on a weekly mani indulgence.

If you are thinking about switching up your makeup and skincare to a more natural and Australian made route then Scout is an incredible brand which you should definitely check out. My next Scout product to try is the mineral foundation powder, I have heard it's amazing for oil control.

FOLLOW ME on instagram @beautegazette for more lots more beauty adventures, including some more Scout and natural beauty products very soon.

Rimmel's NEW Lasting Finish Lippies by Kate Moss Review & Swatches

Rimmel's New Lasting Finish By Kate Moss Lipsticks in 29, 32 and 28 $11.95 available from www.priceline.com.au

Rimmel have added 3 more amazing colours to the Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick collection, which pleases me very much indeed. This is my favourite drugstore/affordable lipstick formula, the other colours in the range are amazing check out 62 and 107 for great wine toned reds. The 3 newest colours are trend based, to match with a certain makeup trend/look rather than a stand alone red or nude.
Colour 29 is a very 90's purple toned pink which is really bright and looks great with a very highlighted base and lots of mascara.
Colour 32 is a very 60's peach based nude, teamed with bronzed contouring and a winged liner this lipstick is an update to a beige based nude.
Colour 28 is the ultimate girly pink, it looks amazing topped with lipgloss and is for the girl who loves a classic smokey eye and pink lip.

I am so excited that the Lasting Finish by Kate Collection is being expanded, it has such a broad range of colours and are so easy to wear on the lips with minimal touch ups needed throughout the day and night.

Rimmel Lasting Finish in '32'
I loved this 60's peachy-nude it has enough brightness to it that the colour doesn't wash me out. It looks fab with a gloss over the top for a very Sienna Miller x Talitha Getty vibe. The matte texture did cling to any dry patches on my lips so be sure to exfoliate your lips before applying this baby. This would also look phenomenal on tanned and asian skin toned ladies.

Rimmel Lasting Finish '28'
Hello dolly! This is a very pretty pastel pink with a slight opalescent sheen, it is incredibly dolly pink and is something I normally steer away from but as you can see from the above photo I went all out and paired it with big lashes and braids for a very girly look. FYI: I got carded/asked for I.D at a bar the day I wore this, which is a big fat YES! So this lipstick is anti-ager too. I am 30 BTW.

Rimmel Lasting Finish in '29'
This is the total banger of the new colours! It is amazing and I haven't stopped wearing it! The colour is a slightly more magenta based dupe of MAC's Rebel which is one of my all time favourite lipsticks . The finish is more satin than the others and sits very comfortably on your lips, it has a less staying power but is also less drying. This is my go-to winter lip look, love it with prints and plains as a point of difference from red lips.
