Beauté Gazette interviews Rachael Finich brand ambassador for Colour Theory and Skin Theory

Colour Theory is a brand that I wish was around when I was 13 and first experimenting with makeup, instead my pocket money was spent on awful blue eye shadows and lip glosses so sticky you could use them as super glue. The quality of Colour Theory products is phenomenal and with the pricing at nothing is above $13.00 it gives women of any age and budget the opportunity to try the brand.
Colour Theory is sold exclusively through Amcal stores for more info go to www.colourtheory.com.au

Colour Theory recently celebrated its first birthday and also announced its first ambassador the beautiful Rachael Finch. Beauté Gazette was lucky enough to have a quick chat to Rachael at the launch about her beauty secrets and her fave Colour Theory products....

Beauté Gazette
Rachael your everyday look seems to be a natural and glowing look, what are the top three products that you use to take your make up from day to night?
Rachael Finch
1. A bold lip, if you are unsure of using bright colours then just go a couple of shades darker than your everyday colour rather than a statement red.
2. Make your eyes pop with a few extra coats of mascara.
3. Using the bronzer from the Colour Theory 'Bohemian Goddess' as a highlight and bronzer on your cheek bones and eyes to give a glowing sun kissed feel your makeup.
B.G
I wish that Colour Theory was around when I was growing up and first starting to experiment with make up because it seemed there was nothing on the lower price point I could afford to buy except for shimmery blue eyeshadow. (Cannot believe I admitted that to an actual beauty queen) What were your first make up products when you were a teenager?
R.F
My first pieces of make up came from my Mum's make up kit, because there wasn't that option for affordable makeup. As you get older and you find items that suit you more. The quality of Colour Theory's products are extremely high because are developed and made in the same factories as a lot of higher end make up brands, which is amazing. Teenage girls and women of all ages are able to use the Colour Theory products and really trust the quality and result.
B.G
What are your favourite Colour Theory products?
R.F
At the moment I am loving the nail polishes, they are amazing value being $4.00 each. The dry time is really fast and the colour range is great for Summer, my favourite shades are the pastels which haven't left my nails - in particular the pastel pink which goes with everything.
Here is a sneak peak at my favourite product in the NEW Skin Theory range : The Daily Moisturiser with 15+SPF it is amazing for oily skin, keeping your skin plumped and hydrated without being overly greasy.
Colour Theory is sold exclusively through Amcal stores for more info go to www.colourtheory.com.au

Also a big thank you so much to Rachael for being so incredibly obliging and sweet.

NAIL WEEK!! Day 1: Rimmel's new Salon Pro by Kate Nail Polishes

Rimmel Salon Pro by Kate Nail Polishes $8.95 each available from www.priceline.com.au

Rimmel Salon Pro polishes are one of the best nail polish formulations on the market, high and budget beauty included. The brush is wide enough to cover nails with colour in 2 strokes, applying polish evenly without streaking. The finish is always opaque in 2 coats - no matter the colour and dry time is about 10mins touch dry 30mins bump dry. The colour selection is a standard mix of trend colours, nothing ground breaking in terms of chromes or texture but all the colours are pretty and very wearable.

Rimmel Salon Pro by Kate Nail Polishes $8.95 each available from www.priceline.com.au

The new range of colours for Summer 2014 (that is Summer in the UK, it is winter for Australians) is filled with great poppy feminine colours, here are my top 4 colour picks:

444: SEDUCE
Purple is having a big come back in the beauty world with many of the high-end spring/summer collections injecting purple into eye shadow palettes, liners and mascaras. I like to team my nail polish to my eye look and have been loving the smokey purple of Seduce. Purple was also Prince's signature colour and I am a massive Prince fangirl 'purple rain, purple rain'!
125: OH, MR DARCY
This is a beautiful fleshy nude, which is almost gel like in appearance on the nails, it is full coverage in 2 coats but keeps a translucent depth to the finish. Very posh and proper, I could see it on the nails of the Made in Chelsea cast especially that snooty Victoria.
264: TEMPTRESS
Ever since Lisa Eldridge wore a bright fuchsia nail with her green rings in a tutorial I have been obsessed with bold pink nails. They're more fun and girly than a standard red nail but give the same pop of bright colour to the nails, pink looks great on all skin tones and hair colours too.
115: HAPPILY EVER AFTER
Orange based reds have been HOT! on the nail-o-meter for the past 2 seasons, and they aren't slowing down. As it is winter in Oz I would stick to using Happily Ever After as for a pedicure colour but if you are in a warmer country then dare to wear this bright hot orange on your fingers and toes.

Rimmel's NEW Lasting Finish Lippies by Kate Moss Review & Swatches

Rimmel's New Lasting Finish By Kate Moss Lipsticks in 29, 32 and 28 $11.95 available from www.priceline.com.au

Rimmel have added 3 more amazing colours to the Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick collection, which pleases me very much indeed. This is my favourite drugstore/affordable lipstick formula, the other colours in the range are amazing check out 62 and 107 for great wine toned reds. The 3 newest colours are trend based, to match with a certain makeup trend/look rather than a stand alone red or nude.
Colour 29 is a very 90's purple toned pink which is really bright and looks great with a very highlighted base and lots of mascara.
Colour 32 is a very 60's peach based nude, teamed with bronzed contouring and a winged liner this lipstick is an update to a beige based nude.
Colour 28 is the ultimate girly pink, it looks amazing topped with lipgloss and is for the girl who loves a classic smokey eye and pink lip.

I am so excited that the Lasting Finish by Kate Collection is being expanded, it has such a broad range of colours and are so easy to wear on the lips with minimal touch ups needed throughout the day and night.

Rimmel Lasting Finish in '32'
I loved this 60's peachy-nude it has enough brightness to it that the colour doesn't wash me out. It looks fab with a gloss over the top for a very Sienna Miller x Talitha Getty vibe. The matte texture did cling to any dry patches on my lips so be sure to exfoliate your lips before applying this baby. This would also look phenomenal on tanned and asian skin toned ladies.

Rimmel Lasting Finish '28'
Hello dolly! This is a very pretty pastel pink with a slight opalescent sheen, it is incredibly dolly pink and is something I normally steer away from but as you can see from the above photo I went all out and paired it with big lashes and braids for a very girly look. FYI: I got carded/asked for I.D at a bar the day I wore this, which is a big fat YES! So this lipstick is anti-ager too. I am 30 BTW.

Rimmel Lasting Finish in '29'
This is the total banger of the new colours! It is amazing and I haven't stopped wearing it! The colour is a slightly more magenta based dupe of MAC's Rebel which is one of my all time favourite lipsticks . The finish is more satin than the others and sits very comfortably on your lips, it has a less staying power but is also less drying. This is my go-to winter lip look, love it with prints and plains as a point of difference from red lips.

Beauté Gazette loves Swisspers Large Make-up Pads!

Swisspers Large Make-up Pads $4.05 available from www.woolworth.com.au

The motto 'Go Big Or Go Home' applies to a lot of things in my life....but my latest big love has been the Swisspers Large Make-up Pads. Seriously why haven't these been available sooner? Or am I just really late to the band waggon on this one?
The large make-up pads make it so much easier to take make up off, rather than wasting precious youtube watching time loading up about 5 smaller pads with Bioderma trying to get my mascara off. So less time and less product, this is obviously a win-win on all fronts.
This is a short and sweet post because there is not much more I can say on the subject of cotton rounds expect do yourself a favour, treat you self and UP SIZE next time you are in the need for some make-up pads. That's all.

Quick Fix Facials are very affordable and also totally awesome!

Quick Fix Facials $8.95 each and are available through Woolworths Australia Wide for more info call 07 5564 6767

I love giving myself a facial at home, starting with an good double cleanse I then move on to my favourite step a face mask. If I have the time I will pop the face mask on and take a bath but I am usually buzzing about the house doing laundry, replying to emails or tidying up. Face masks are usually quite pricey with claims of transforming you in Jennifer Lawrence in just 30 minutes, packed with mind boggling ingredients that are usually from the dead sea or some sort of miracle mud. When really all you want is to improve the texture of your skin a little bit and add a little more moisture than usual.
Quick Fix Facials are AMAZING! My favourite is the Mega Moisture mask which works in just 10 minutes and when rinsed off with warm water and face fannel my skin feels plump and totally hydrated. The Mega Moisture Mask would be great to use once or twice a week if you work in an office with air conditioning that dries out your skin or after a flight to zap the moisture back into your face. The Anti-Blemish Mud Mask and Exfoliating Scrub Mask I prefer to use in the areas which need them rather than all over the face. The Anti-Blemish in my t-zone where I am most oily and the Exfoliating Scrub around my nose and chin where my blackheads are most noticeable.
The most exciting thing about the Quick Fix Facials line is the price they are only $8.95 and they really work, no huge price tag which for me created huge expectations. The packaging is slightly loud but it is definitely attention grabbing which is much needed when you are trying to find a product in the sea of white and pastel packaging on the shelves at Woolworths.
