Winter Handbag Essentials feat. Burberry, Rimmel, OPI, Make Up Store & More

Bag from Benah and wallet from Comme Des Garcons
Switching up the make up contents of my bag seasonally is essential for example during cooler months there is no need to carry around a blotting powder to control shine and its all about a dark lip and eye rather than peachy-pink gloss. Here is a sticky beak into my winter handbag and the products that have been on high rotation over Winter.

Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Mascara $37.00
For me the only natural lashes that are acceptable are when you are asleep and wearing no make up at all, for all other times its big lashes or bust. Make Up For Ever smoky lash is the best at giving a false lash effect without being too clumpy.

Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow in Rosewood $45.00
Oh this eyeshadow is heaven, it is so buttery soft to apply with zero fallout. Applied close to to top and bottom lash line when wearing black kohl gives an incredible lived in chic smoky eye look, perfect for a day to night make up transition.
Available from www.davidjones.com.au

Dr Bronner's Lip Balm $4.95
Tingly lip balms are not for me, this is just a very good inexpensive fuss free lip balm that does the job. Nuff' said.
Available from www.lateralfood.com

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Shadow Stick in Blackmail $12.95
Smudged out and worked into your waterline I love a black kohl lined eye! It is super easy and can be applied anywhere at anytime to give your makeup an extra wow factor.
Available from www.priceline.com.au

Make Up Store Lipstick in Burgandy Cream $41.00
This winter has been all about a slight brownish red 90's lipstick, applied sheer over a lip balm or as a bold statement a'la Drew Barrymore at her wildest of times. I LOVE IT. This lipstick hasn't left my handbag all winter.
Available from www.makeupstore.se

MAC Cremeblend Blush in Poesy $41.00
Using a cream during winter is a great way to bring a bit of dewiness back to your skin, Poesy is the cutest peachy-flush of colour which is fool proof to apply.
Available from www.maccosmetics.com.au

OPI Nail Polish in Glitzerland $19.95
Gimme metallic nails all winter long, they are far more interesting than the usually wine toned dark reds that we are very easily drawn to over the winter months.
Available from www.davidjones.com.au

Cha Time Loyalty Card
I like my tea all day long, hazelnut milk, matcha green, earl grey hot and cold even a refreshing coconut and Cha Time is my tea of choice. I'm not going to let you know how many loyalty points I've clocked up but its A LOT!
Available from www.chatime.com.au

Elle Fanning the princess of Colour POP! Make Up Store's NEW bright and bold Mircoshadows

The colour POP! eye shadow princess herself Elle Fanning has been rockin' some amazing bright coloured eye looks recently. From the very pretty peachy orange shadow at the Maleficent premier to a bold blue liner on the red carpet the bright eyeshadows have been the perfect pairing for her always adorable outfits. Teamed with a fresh face the a colour POP! eye look can be a cute statement without being over powering on any skin tone. This trend can be a little intimidating, so here are a few tips to pulling off the bright and bold eye trend:
- Always line your upper tight line, working the liner into your lash line with a black kohl liner pencil is best. This gives your eyes definition and avoids the bright shadow blending into your lashes.
-If you want to intensify the look apply a similar colour eye liner as a base and the patt the shadow on top to create a budge free bold block colour.
-Make your eyes be the only statement makeup on your face to avoid a clown-like disarster, teaming a bold eye with fresh and neutral base and natural lips like Elle.
- A very easy and wearable way to add the pop is to keep the bright colour close to the lash line and then add a cat flick liner with a gel or liquid liner.
Always up for a new make up challenge, I will be re-creating the colour POP! trend and posting photos to my instagram to check out if it was flawless or a fail follow @beautegazette for updates!

Marble Shadow in 'Black Vermont' $35.00 available from May, Micro Shadow in 'Orange Peel' $35.00 available from July &  Micro Shadow in 'Blue Mist' $35.00 available from June
For more information or to find your closest store please go to www.makeupstore.se

Make Up Store is releasing a range of colour POP! shadows which I love. They're all amazingly pigmented pefect to be applied as a bold colour or easily blended out to create a colour wash all over the eye a'la Elle Fanning above at the Maleficent Premier. There are a rainbow of colours to choose from at Make Up Store so if you're not into orange or blues and your have brown or hazel eyes try a purple pop or liner for an instant WOW! Be sure to check out the amazing Make Up Store Shadows out online or instore to get inspired for your next colour POP! look.

OMG IT'S A PANDA NAIL-ART TUTORIAL!!! Feat. Make Up Store's Dotting Tool

What happens when one of you greatest friends of all time Hana flys in for a whirl wind trip from New York City? You hang out immediately and paint each others nails obvs! But not just any nails.....THE MOST FREAKIN' ADORABLY CUTE PANDA NAILS! The design is super dooper easy to learn and you don't need to be a nail professional to master it, keep reading for my step-by-step tutorial:

1. Give your nails a good tidy up - trim your cuticles, buff and shape your nails into a rounded tip with a nail file. Then apply a base, you could use a clear polish but I prefer a nude to really make the panda pop! I used Essie St Tropez

2. It's time to give your panda a head, for this you are going to need a white polish for the tutorial I used Rimmel Britt Manicure in Porcelin. Using the brush carefully paint a semi circle to about half way down the nail, just like in the image above. It my take two coats to become totally opaque. Then let dry for 15mins, making sure these coats are completely dry will make the next steps easier.

3. To create the ears, eyes and nose you will need to use a dotting tool with a fine end and a large end, I love this one from Make Up Store it has the perfect sized baubles to create millions of unique and totally cute nail designs. You will need a black polish for the ears, eyes and nose I used Rimmels 60's Nail polish in Black Out, pour out a tiny amount out onto a scrap piece of paper and dip the large end of the dotting tool into the black polish. Lightly dot on the ears to the top of the white semi circle. If you are unsure of how much polish will come off the dotting tool, practice dotting on the scrap paper first.

4. Now its time for the nose......omg its so cute. Dot the center of your nails at the very tip.

5. Almost done...Told you it was easy. For the eyes do two dots in the center of the semi circle and allow them to dry. Then Tipping a teensey-weensey amount of white paint onto your scrap paper and using the small end of the dotting tool do a very tiny white dot in the middle of your black dots which are the eyes. ALLOW TO DRY....and I mean really dry, give it a good 30mins before you apply a top coat. Otherwise the design will run when you apply a topcoat and your panda will be crying. Apply your favourite topcoat and enjoy having the cutest panda nails in the world!

Products inspired by the sliver screen feat. Blue Crush, Frances Ha, Mermaids and Daria

Toni & Guy Sea Salt Texturizing Spray $15.99 available from www.priceline.com.au, Model Co Gradual Tan $14.95 available from www.modelcocosmetics.com,  Dermalogica Protection 50 Sport $45.00 available from www.dermalogica.com.au (available December 1st)

Blue Crush was one of those movies that immediately after watching it, made you want to learn to surf stat! Also start doing soft sand running to get Kate Bossie's amazing bum. The babes in Blue Crush were super tanned but never burnt which means they would have definitely used a good sunscreen like Dermalogica's newie Protection 50 Sport. They would have topped up their tans with a daily moisturising gradual tan for sure and every beach babe knows the importance of a generous spritz of Toni & Guy's Sea Salt Texturizing Spray to get that post swim beach texture even if you haven't been near the surf.

Make Up Store Cake Eyeliner in Black $32.00 available from www.makeupstore.se, Nars Pure Matte Lipstick in Terre De Feu $40.00 available from www.meccacosmetica.com.au, Chapstick Classic $4.69 available from www.priceline.com.au

Daria was the flat line 90's saviour of teen-toon culture, she saved me from a saturation of fluffy pink Baby Spice hair accessories and blow up furniture. Daria would have totally loved some matte black liner all the way around the eye and waterline smudged a little influenced by any Fiona Apple video clip, my favourite is The Make Up Store's cake liner in Black because it is really really black. The next pick is a shout out to Jane who was constantly wearing the most perfect brown based dark red lipstick, even though it was just a cartoon I am going to use some creative licence here and bet it was a matte, and probably everything Nars's Terre De Feu is and more. Chapstick Classic is the perfect pocket lipbalm for any nonchalant 'alt' teen, right?

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara $15.95 available from www.priceline.com.au, Dr Bronner's Magic Soap in Peppermint $3.20 available from www.lateralfood.com Rosebud Salve $12.95 available from www.adorebeauty.com.au
Frances Ha was my favourite movie of 2013....I have seen it 4 times now, that's all. Frances is hopelessly lovable and perfectly useless and all I wanted to know is what was in her beaten up back pack, so I guessed. She would totally have loved a mascara but not a fussy one, Maybelline's Great Lash is the perfect mascara for non fussy lashes. Frances is constantly moving apartment so a mini Dr Bronner's Peppermint soap seems like it would be a back pack essential for her. If you haven't seen the movie *SPOILER ALERT* she goes to Paris and with not much money at all but she would have totally picked up a posh lip balm like Smith's Rosebud Salve from Galeries Lafayette.
Clinique Superpowder Double Face Powder $50.00 available from www.clinique.com.au, Estee Lauder Hydra Luster Lipstick in Rich Red $42.00 available from www.esteelauder.com.au, Rimmel Gel Eye Liner in Blackest Black $12.95 available from www.priceline.com.au

Charlotte Flax lost her virginity in the bell tower of a nunnery drunk whilst her sister almost drowned in a stream...heavy 90's cinema. My favourite thing about Mermaids was the 90's interpretation of 60's make up. There was zero dewiness on the skin, it was all about a overly powdered matte finish, Clinique's iconic jade powder compact is a perfect 90's/60's match. The scene when Charlotte is putting on her mother's makeup on, smearing lipstick on it is from gold bullet and totallly Estee Lauder's signature packaging. A cat flicked eye perfected Charlotte's makeup, Rimmel's gel liner is a super easy formula to use and the brush on top of the pot is perfect to apply the product. Mermaid's was iconic for me, it was on repeat every school holiday and I wanted my Mum to be as cool as Cher, disappointed in my stable family and that I didn't live near a nunnery and Michael Schoeffling didn't drive the school bus.

What's in my make up bag? Feat. Prada Vela Wristlet, Jane Iredale Glow Time, Uriage, Rimmel, Mirenesse, Make up Store & Sally Hansen

My lack of posts is terrible....I am a terrible Beauty Blogger #badbblogger! There is a reason for this....I have taken over Oyster Beauty this month posting 90'S NAIL MONTH! Check Check Check it out
HERE! and HERE!
AND have been blogging away on Schwarzkopf's Style Studio blog HERE! Which is an exciting project to be part of and I can't believe that they chose me to blog alongside Christina from Hair Romance!

So as you can imagine it has been very busy at Beauté Gazette HQ with launches, shoot and fun times and my make up bag has taken a very minimal turn for the best:

Make up Bag: Prada Vela Clutch $395.54 available from www.saksfifthavenue.com
Posh out - I know! But this doubles as a clutch as well. It is nylon and so I have justified it as ok to keep my makeup in it.

Uriage Bariederm Smoothing Barrier Repair Lip Balm $19.95 available from www.adorebeauty.com
It is winter in Australia at the moment and my lips have been dry and chapped from the cold (it's actually not that cold 26 degrees - shout out to global warming!) but this Uriage barrier lip balm is incredible! I have been using it at the gym, whenever I'm outside and need to create a protective layer on my lips also it works well when applied overnight to soften lips.

Jane Iredale Glow Time Full Coverage BB Mineral Cream SPF 25 $61.20 available from www.adorebeauty.com
This is not a BB cream in the traditional sense, this is a high coverage foundation with very luminizing properties. I love love love this product, it is an amazing hybrid base which covers without being to heavy on the skin, conceals and luminizes skin giving a 'glowy' effect. A little goes a long way with this product - I use the size of a peppercorn amount to do my whole face for medium coverage. Best sheered out with fingers, I use a setting powder down the middle of my T-Zone because that can become too glowy!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeliner in Bronze $9.95 available from www.priceline.com.au
Instead of carrying around eye shadows and brushes that equal too much effort, I am into soft blendable liners! During the day I apply a little to my water line and the base of my lashes which gives a pretty shimmery glitter lash illusion and at night I draw messily on top of my lash line and smudge it in with my finger! Hmmmmm this doesn't sound too professional or the right type of advice I should be giving out but what the heck! It looks great and is so easy and can be done in car on a bus or in the toilets at work.

Bare Minerals Stroke of Light Concealer $26.95 available from www.kitcosmetics.com
I haven't found another concealer that matches my skin like this does, I tried to buy the NARS creamy concealer over the weekend but my colour was sold out. This goes under my tired sleepy eyes to brighten and give the illusion of sleep, rest and relaxation.

Make Up Store Hi-Tech Lighter $32.00 available from www.makeupstore.se
I'm into really whorish slutty full on Victoria Secret Mariah Carey video clip highlighting. Because my skin is so damn glowy from the Jane Iredale BB Cream I can only use a cream highlighter. I loves this Make Up Store one it has a pretty pink pearlesent moonstone shine. It goes on my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, brow bones and cupids bow. Told you I am really into it!

Loreal Riche Shine Caress in 200 Princess - $23.00 available from www.priceline.com.au
These have had mixed reviews as far as being 'long wear' - I don't really give a shit about long wear. Does this look good on? YES! It looks damn good and glossy. It is a stain and a lipgloss all mixed up together and so it will become a bit patchy and you are going to have to keep an eye on it if eating and drinking but I love it rubbed in with  my finger and also layered up for a bold glossy lip.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure 'Mauve Along' $14.95 available from www.priceline.com.au
Tralling through tumblr I found a 70's Chloe ad, it would have been of the era when Karl Lagerfeld was designing and the girls had these mauve nude nails which were everything! They were heaven and so since I have been on the hunt for a mauve nude, last week I was sent this little babe from Sally Hansen and it hasn't been off my nails since. It is an update on foundation coloured nude nails which don't suit most white girl hands.

Mirenesse Skin Clone Mineral Veil Powder Bronzer $47.03 available from www.adorebeauty.com.au
Scared of bronzing? Me too! I'm new to this Mirenesse brand, but I like/love this bronzer. The powder is so fine and glides onto the skin. I apply lightly with a smaller blush brush NOT the traditional huge bronzer brush, and then build it up to a point which is verging on a bronzer/blush look. No one has said it looks weird yet so I'm just going with it.

Make Up Store : Bon Bon Collection and Beaute Gazette's Christmas Picks!

It was a steamy Sydney night last Tuesday, as I walked from Surry Hills all the way to the Make Up Store in Paddington which takes about 20mins. Me and my Isabel Marant Betty sneakers almost passed out TWICE, lucky the Make Up Store put on a delicous spread. Make Up Store orginiated in Sweden and if you are like me and frequent Swedish and Norwegian fashion blogs - way too much - you would have seen some of the products in posts I'm sure. Basically we were in makeup heaven, free to play with makeup all night long whilst the lovely helpful makeup artists gave us all make over's explaining how to perfect new trends like bright winged liner. Cutie Adeline (above) tried the most incredible orange lips she has a great blog too - 'Through Beauty Eyes' check it out HERE!

The Bon Bon collection is made up of beautiful products, which are all extremely wearable all year round. The Australian Makeup Store Artistic Director Maria demonstrated how to acheieve the incredibly complex eye look in the posters for the Bon Bon Collection, but if you were only going to splurge on a couple of items from the collection her picks are the Chocolate Cheese Cake Eye Pencil $34.00 and the Loose Eye Dust in Chocolate Fondant $33.00.

My favorite products I got to test out were the amazing Tri-Brow Palette's $39.00 which blended can match every tone of brow ever needed - Perfect for ladies who like to switch up their hair colour frequently! Also on my shopping list is the Skin Serum $80.00 which is silicone based and fills in pores and creates a smooth base to apply makeup onto, my pores are welcoming in summer a little too excitidly and have been so annoying lately.

If you love Make Up Store products as much as I now do, keep reading Beauté Gazette because next week I will be giving away some gorgeous festive Make Up Store products in my Christmas Giveaway.
Holographic Nail Polish $26.00 in Greta & High Tech-lighter in Pandora $32.00
