Winter Handbag Essentials feat. Burberry, Rimmel, OPI, Make Up Store & More

Bag from Benah and wallet from Comme Des Garcons
Switching up the make up contents of my bag seasonally is essential for example during cooler months there is no need to carry around a blotting powder to control shine and its all about a dark lip and eye rather than peachy-pink gloss. Here is a sticky beak into my winter handbag and the products that have been on high rotation over Winter.

Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Mascara $37.00
For me the only natural lashes that are acceptable are when you are asleep and wearing no make up at all, for all other times its big lashes or bust. Make Up For Ever smoky lash is the best at giving a false lash effect without being too clumpy.

Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow in Rosewood $45.00
Oh this eyeshadow is heaven, it is so buttery soft to apply with zero fallout. Applied close to to top and bottom lash line when wearing black kohl gives an incredible lived in chic smoky eye look, perfect for a day to night make up transition.
Available from www.davidjones.com.au

Dr Bronner's Lip Balm $4.95
Tingly lip balms are not for me, this is just a very good inexpensive fuss free lip balm that does the job. Nuff' said.
Available from www.lateralfood.com

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Shadow Stick in Blackmail $12.95
Smudged out and worked into your waterline I love a black kohl lined eye! It is super easy and can be applied anywhere at anytime to give your makeup an extra wow factor.
Available from www.priceline.com.au

Make Up Store Lipstick in Burgandy Cream $41.00
This winter has been all about a slight brownish red 90's lipstick, applied sheer over a lip balm or as a bold statement a'la Drew Barrymore at her wildest of times. I LOVE IT. This lipstick hasn't left my handbag all winter.
Available from www.makeupstore.se

MAC Cremeblend Blush in Poesy $41.00
Using a cream during winter is a great way to bring a bit of dewiness back to your skin, Poesy is the cutest peachy-flush of colour which is fool proof to apply.
Available from www.maccosmetics.com.au

OPI Nail Polish in Glitzerland $19.95
Gimme metallic nails all winter long, they are far more interesting than the usually wine toned dark reds that we are very easily drawn to over the winter months.
Available from www.davidjones.com.au

Cha Time Loyalty Card
I like my tea all day long, hazelnut milk, matcha green, earl grey hot and cold even a refreshing coconut and Cha Time is my tea of choice. I'm not going to let you know how many loyalty points I've clocked up but its A LOT!
Available from www.chatime.com.au

Whats in my bag? Daily Essentials Edition

Benah for Karen Walker Juliet Clutch in Tan $230.00
'The Juliet' from the Benah for Karen Walker colab is clutch perfection! Although the tan colourway is sold out online, I would totally love the burgandy like a second child. It is the most practical of clutches with 3 compartments inside to organize your clutch clutter. The whole colab in general is totally lust worthy, I'm completely desperate for the Nancy Overnight and Andie Duffle styles too.

Antipodes Divine Face Oil Mini & Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream Mini's $19.95
It is officially now not Summer and as the weather starts to cool my skin starts to dry out, so carrying a mini sized oil or cream is the best way to combat scales forming on the go. Antipodes is such a hydrating and beautifully skin quenching brand, the mini hydrating sets are a perfect way to explore the brand for the unfamiliar.
Available from www.antipodesnature.com

Revlon Colour Burst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle and Raspberry Pie $21.95
My friend Ashley has this fun game where he digs into my handbag to count how many lip products I am carrying around with me, the most he has found was 9!!! Yes, 9!!! Having a clutch does restrict the number of balms, glosses and lipsticks I have on me at all times. The new streamline new me only needs 2 lip colours: Day Neutral 'Pink Truffle' - A brown based pink which gives just the right amount of colour to look polished. Bright for Night 'Raspberry Pie' - Pink is offically my new red. If you don't own a Revlon Lip Butter then go and get one girl!!!
Available from www.priceline.com

Asos Chain Pom Pom Earrings $15.60
Asos have fast been becoming my favourite spot to pick up a little bit of ear candy, there is always something new, dangly and very pretty. But most importantly they are mostly under $20!
Available from www.asos.com

Pandora 14 Carat Pearl and Pink Sapphire Ring
A very special gift from a very special friend, I adore this ring and get comments on it all the time.
Available from www.pandora.net

Mania Mania Sahara Ring $152.00
A little scarab ring which looks great stacked or on its own, Mania Mania know how to make the most cosmically-cool jewelry ever.
Available from www.themaniamania.com

Lush Flowers Burrow Perfume $20.00
This perfume is perfectly sized to pack into your clutch. Flowers Burrow is a strong and herbal fragrance which sinks into your skin and makes you feel warm like you are wrapped in a cloak of dried musky flowers. It is a strong and powerful scent which I love but is not for everyone.
Available from www.lush.com.au

What's in my bag: Fashion Week Essentials

Next week is MBFW?!?! That is Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week here in Sydney. I will be attending a few shows to cover beauty and hair trends to share with you dear readers and also do a lot of people watching. I am a little nervous about the week long event, so organising myself with lists and pre-packing my handbag is making me feel a little more at ease. Here are my essentials which will be seeing me through the week, I want to be more prepared than a girl scout going to camp!

Mason Pearson Junior Bristle and Nylon Brush $115.00
Once you Mason Pearson you will never go back, I hate all other hairbrushes. The difference is that when you brush your hair the bristles grip your hair and distribute natural oils and any product from the roots to the tips and it just makes your hair look 'done'. They are pricey but they do have the royal seal of approval, worth it.
Available from www.victoriasbasement.com.au

Avene Eau Thermal Spring Spray $7.99
French water in a can, calms my nerves. A spritz after applying makeup gives a dewy glow to the skin to avoid the cakey look.
Available from www.chemistwarehouse.com.au

Beauté Gazette Business Cards
Just in case! If you have a blog please get yourself some business cards, they are super useful when you are at events and meeting people.

Tissues
Because I don't want to sneeze on any fancy fashion people.

Panadol
Fashion might give me a headache.

HydraLyte
People in the fashion industry are usually quite thin, so I am unsure about sustenance over the week. I am also contemplating packing some protein bars and spacefood sticks.

Chuppa Chups
Same same, I'm sure at that 3pm daily slump fashion people just pop the champagne and Ciroc but I am packing Chuppa Chups.

Benah Kodi Bag $580.00
I LOVE BENAH! This bag is the cutest and just fashion enough to not feel judged and eyed off by all of the Celine and Chanel bags during the week.
Available from www.thebenah.com

Dries Van Noten X Linda Farrow Sunglasses
A little Anna Wintor and a little nap time, if it all gets too much I will just have some shut eye behind my glasses.
Available from www.lagarconne.com

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal $66.00
Having such a small bag is limiting....So I am busting out the trial size products. This product is instant glowy dewy healthy full of life in a tube. Pat around the cheekbones, temples and cupids bow and you will look 10% more like a Victoria's Secret Model.
Available from www.beccacosmetics.com

Stila Perfecting Concealer $37.00
What if I get a stress pimple from all the fashion?
Available from www.meccacosmetica.com.au

Becca Beach Tint in Grapefruit $42.00
Dewy cheeks, check! Its all about a bold dark lip so I am toning down the blush.
Available from www.beccacosmetics.com

Revlon Grow Lucious Mascara $21.95
Woah! Hello lashes! This big fat mascara wand gives you mega full on lashes in seconds. It is the only mascara I have found which is comparable to Make Up For Ever's smokey lash.
Available from www.priceline.com.au

Loreal Shine Caresse in 200 Princess $19.20
After fiddling around with these, I have decided that I like them over the top of a lipstick to act as a long wear gloss.
Available from www.priceline.com.au

Topshop Lip Pencil in Surrender $13.00
Hi vampy trampy lips.....a colour that I have been scared of wearing but my boyfriend is out of town and the fashion folks will totally get it.
Available from www.topshop.com

Kiki K Diary $19.95 and Pen
I am one of those people that no matter how many ical's and google calanders I have I still need to physically write something down to remember it.
Available from www.kikki-k.com

Pentax Camera
My trusty Pentax Optio is takes great photos and is very compact but if there is a camera fairy godmother reading I would really like the Pentax Q10 in Silver...pretty please.
Available from www.crkennedy.com.au

I will be updating you all on my fashion adventures constantly via Twitter and Instagram all the links are below.....Wish me luck!

What's in my bag? Summer Everyday Makeup

My makeup bag changes daily depending if I have had enough time to apply eyeshadow or if I can be bothered with a bright lip.
This is what I have been carrying about in my makeup bag today:

Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle:
This is my perfect brownie nude - finally I have found one! Having a very light and pink toned skin beige-nude toned lip colours look terrible on me, l look absolutely sick. In the packaging Pink Truffle looks slightly mumsy, but on the lips it gives just the right amount on 'my lips but better' with a slight nod to Olivia Palermo.

Real Techniques Contour Brush:
The only brush I have been using to apply blush, it can get into the hollow of your cheek to do a bit of cheek-bone cheating contouring and can also apply your blush perfectly onto the apples of your cheeks. Recently I have been totally into using smaller brushes to apply product and then a larger kabuki to blend out.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Nectar:
Previously I had written about Bobbi Brown Shimmer bricks saying that they weren't worth the hype - I am putting my hand up - I was wrong. The reason I was hating on the bricks was that I was applying them all wrong! Using smaller brushes like the Real Techniques Contour Brush, and using the colours in the shimmer brick separately and only applying to your cheeks not an all over shimmer mess- they give you the sweetest glow to your cheeks.

The Balm Sexy Mama Transulesent Powder:
By 10am my forehead is shining like its just won a logie during summer, translucent powder is my best friend. Tinted powders give me too much coverage and look cakey but this powder is just right.

Lancomes Hypnose Drama:
With such a neutral face go I BIG with my lashes, like 8 layers of thick spider lashes.

Dr Jart+ BB Water Fuse:
Being out and about this doubles as my sunscreen, if I am going to have lunch outside or going to appointments I will re-apply this to make sure not to get burnt. The formula is light enough to be build-able and blends easily with fingers.

Bare Minerals Stroke of Light Concealer Shade 2:
I picked this up over the weekend and already it is a new favourite, giving good coverage for under eye concealing with slight light reflecting shine not as much as YSL's Touche Eclat. It is also a very affordable at $26.95 compared to other higher end brands concealers.

Loreal Brow Stylist in blonde:
Wow this is great, it is such a soft wax pencil and glides onto brows rather than pulling. The colour isn't that amazing - but it does the job.

Sportsgirl Travel Kabuki:
Such a soft brush - I love it for applying translucent powder throughout the day.

So that's it - probably my most restrained makeup bag ever.
What's in your summer everyday makeup bag? Is there anything that you cannot leave the house without?

GIRLS at the Emmy Awards + What's in your party clutch?

So even though GIRLS didn't win any actual Emmy's this season it has been the best series since Twin Peaks in my opinion. I felt compelled to take to my blog to express this, which I am sure one character or another from the show would have done if they were in my position, shit I might even put this on Twitter too and Instagram the hell out of it. Because that's what girls do in their 20's, right?  My favorite line from Girls is when Hannah is talking to her parents about how she is going to become a writer and needs them to support her financially for a little while (I have had this exact same conversation with my parents, but was too pre-occupied with myself to blab out such a winning line) and the way she delivered it made me think she was such a jerk and it also made myself feel like a mega jerk : 'I think I may be the voice of my generation......or at least a voice.....of a generation.'

So-what, this is a total make believe 'What's in my clutch?' The way GIRLS is written you kinda feel like you know each of the characters really well - almost too well, either your best friend reminds you of Shoshanna or you work with a Marnie or your boyfriend cheated on you with Jessa and you like me cringe at the fact that you have more than 10 similarities to Hannah.

Clutch : Marni from £345.85
None of the girls carried a clutch, I just am obsessed with this cutie from Marni and am thinking that if I put it into the universe magically in my come to me in someway.
www.net-a-porter.com

Mini Oreo's : Before the Emmy's Lena Denham instagrammed a photo of her naked eating a whole cake with her hands, so from that we know the girl likes sweets. Did anyone else even watch the Emmy's? It was about 1 million hours long and with all those constricting dresses in the room and actresses that hadn't eaten in days the most annoying thing would be to wave a packet of mini oreo's in their faces.

Chanel blotting papers : These were released a little while ago, I don't know if they are still available? But I have them in my makeup stash waiting for a fancy enough occasion to whip them out.
www.chanel.com

Dior Kohl Eyeliner in Black : I have kind of imagined that Lena, Zosia and Alison all got ready together in a hotel room and they all had their makeup done and no one was more famous than the others. What I liked most about Lena's makeup was her strong kohl eye, it wasn't a slutty I am wearing heaps of eye makeup kardashian vibe it was an even kohl matte outline of the eyes which made her chestnut eyes look incredible.
www.dior.com

Ellis Faas Glazed Lips in Sheer Soft pink : There was no throw back retro lips amongst the GIRLS cast, leave that to Zooey Deschanel. Ellis Faas is a brand which is interesting enough to show off in a bathroom full of famous people in a bathroom at the Emmy's but the lasting time and colours are also very flattering and classic.
www.ellisfaas.com

Prada Candy EDP : Maybe to match her dress or maybe because it smells like cake. I had this perfume on my desk for ages and to be honest I immediately hated it, it is sickly sweet but since the Night Jasmine is in bloom and everything in life is sweeter again I have found myself reaching for it.
www.prada.com

Estee Lauder Alligator print gold compact : I have a strong image in my mind of starlets leaning up to the Emmy's bathroom mirror all powdering their noses with these gold compacts. This is totally a fictional day dream and I know and probably the only person who carries a compact like this around in real life if Joan Collins.
www.esteelauder.com.au

Iphone : Probably with a jazzy/cute/comedy cover on it. To instagram /tweet/facebook and remember the whole night with.

What's in my bag? Everyday edition

Ever wondered why girls bags are so heavy? It's because this is what I lug about everyday without even batting an eyelid. 9 Lip products?!?!? When I am about to leave the house I just shove more and more lip things in my bag without taking the others out. Clockwise from bottom left:

Water
Standard.

Germaphobe much? Not really I am just very clumsy and these are good if you spill anything on your clothes this will help to stop it from staining.

Very hydrating with a plum tint, it smells pretty good too.

How gross/great is this leopard print packaging! I am obsessed with how it smells like old ladies too. I bought this because I was sick of buying expensive powders only to open my makeup case to find everything covered in smashed up shattered powder.

Surprisingly a quite good brush for on the go!

I am taking this out of my bag now.....fearful of it smashing.

Yes.....I finally gave in and got the Coral in Love shade. Worth the hype, its a super pretty poppy coral colour.

Fuchsia satin finish lipstick, super posh David Jones mum packaging. It's fun to whip this out in a bathroom - you get lots of inquisitive looks from other ladies reapplying with boring lipstick.

This is a clear shimmer which looks great over red lipsticks, I don't know why this is in my bag. Its probably been left stray from a night out. Also if you want glossy shimmer eyelids a'la the Tom Ford campaign with Lara Stone, dab this over some bronze eyeshadow and smudge into the lash line.

Holy grail under eye concealer, nothing else works for me. This is perfect and corrects under eye circles without cake-ing and creasing in wrinkles - Not that I have any wrinkles.

Matte Nude colour, maybe I was having a 90's moment sometimes this week. This on its own makes me look sick in a bad way, but its ok with a gloss over the top.

This is a sunkissed bronzer, great for a quick all over healthy glow. Its a bit too orange for contouring.

I could smell this all day everyday, I wish there was a candle of this scent. It smells like childhood memories of brand new Polly Pockets or plastic toys.

A little tube of security, everything is right in the world when this is by your side. It can fix anything.....well maybe just chapped lips, cuticles and dry skin! But that's almost everything.

Comme Des Garcon Coin Purse

Mini Medical Kit
Cotton buds, Tampon, Hair bands, bobby pins, mini nail file, bandaids, foundation sample, panadine forté, naprogesic, midol, pepto bismol. Always be prepared!

This is my favorite nudey peach everyday lipstick, its perfect and I love it. Subtle and cute.

A new purchase last week, it is so great and already a permanent handbag lipgloss. Such a pretty coral shade with hint peach with no shimmer.

Ultimate lipgloss and stain in one! This I had with me the other day when I wanted a pink stain but not a heavy lipstick look.

#1 What's in my make up purse : Bump 'n' Grind Edition

So it's almost THE FREAKN' WEEKEND. I am so excited. Tomorrow night I'm going on a Girls Night Out which will include a Mexican dinner accompanied with Tequila and Lemonades, Shots and Whiskey at The Cricketers Arms and then about 4 hours of bump'n'grindin on the dance floor at our favorite party Halfway Crooks.

Here's what is going to be in my make up bag and why:

1. Make up bag from Daiso $2.80
The thing with make up bags is that whatever the size I will fill it too the brim. Its plastic which is also important when on a Girls Night Out you never know when someone/me is going accidentally spill an entire Car Bomb into my bag leaving everything with a sticky coating.
Side note: Daiso (the best Japanese $2.00 shop) is now in Australia - Just go, its amazing.
 Everything is $2.80!!!!!!!!!
If you like really subtle lashes - This is not the mascara for you. This mascara is really black and gives you tarantula lashes, it packs on the product. There is no smudging or running, so perfect for a 4 hour dance floor session.
Do you want your face to be so illuminated that it catches the light from the disco ball then bounces it into the eyes of your crush? This will do it. I actually think that this may give me a little J-Lo glow in an acceptable white girl non trashy jersey shore bronzer way.
You know when you see a girl and become captivated with her skin and you ask yourself 'Is she wearing make up? She must be because no one can look that amazing without make up on'. Chances are the babe is wearing this. Its sheer and dewy and has just enough coverage.
I'm pretty sure this is the product that the Olsen twins use, its really pretty. The consistency is quite weird -  it feels metallic and silicone like. You just need a tiny amount applied to your lids with your finger, smudge it out as best possible then go in with a blending brush - but be quick because it sets. When it sets its ON! Like not moving until you go at it with some Bioderma and a cotton pad.
6. Visine clear eyes
Give me anymore than half a drink and a dance floor and smoke machine and I will recreate Xanadu for you! One problem I think I'm very allergic to smoke machines, so Visine clear eyes really helps after I run from the dance floor to the bathroom clutching my eyes.
WOW OK WOW! This is my new favorite lipstick ever! It is an absolute a dream. (Will do a full post just on these lipsticks) When you put it on it is a balmy consistency, which makes it easy to blend out and really work into your lips with your fingers, I do this for about 3 layers building up the colour. Then by about the 4th layer you can feel it starting to set. It will last pretty much all night with a few touch ups. Its also has really pretty packaging, and lets face it when you're in the bathroom with all the girls no one wants to bring out a banged up old nasty lippy. Ewwwwww!
Its been 15years and I am still not over a Juicy Tube. This is the limited edition by Japanese artist Yayoi  Kusama. Perfect for a dance floor pash.
Ok so as a pale girl when I go for a bronzer its not going to be anything that Snooki uses. This is a cream bronzer with minimal shimmer, it blends out to very sheer and is perfect as a contour on cheeks and temples. Using such moisturizing bases with the 2 Stila products a powder bronzer would cake and when you are all up in da club the last thing you need is caking.
Oooooooff!!! This is good, so good. It's just enough sparkle to be noticed by not be over done. Apply a black base so the green glitter pops.

Have a freakn weekend chikas!

Halfway Crooks <click> dancefloor here we come! Wooooooopppppp!
