Jurlique's new Nutri-Define range raises the bar in natural luxe skin care.

Jurlique's Nutri-Define Multi-Correcting Day Cream $120.00 and Nutri-Define Superior Retexturising Facial Serum $145.00 available from www.jurlique.com.au

Jurlique is a brand which I know and trust to deliver amazing natural products that contain the créme de la créme of natural ingredients which my skin loves. The new Nutri-Define range is very luxe and on the higher price end for Jurlique because of the type of high potency ingredients that the products contain.

So what is in the Nutri-Define range that makes it so superior?
The range contains BIOSOME5..... Say what babe? Well to put it simply, a product can only work so well on the surface of your skin and to make it work on a deeper level you need an ingredient called a Liposome which acts as a helping hand to make your skin drink up all the skin building ingredients. In most skin care Liposome's are a chemical ingredient which are synthetic and too harsh for your skin, so Jurlique has developed a natural Liposome called BIOSOME5.

Other beautiful natural ingredients found in Nutri-Define:
Cochlearia Armorcia ( Horseradish) grown in the Adelaide Hills with powerful antioxidanct properties, Morus Bombycis Root Extract (Mulberry Root) to brighten skin tone, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Also grown in the Adelaide hills helps skin rejuvinate, Mentha Piperita Extract (Peppermint extract) to improve skin texture and Glycogen for skin firming benefits.

My personal experience when trialling the Nutri-Define range?
I started using the facial serum and daily moisturiser together about 3 weeks ago, my skin has been suffering from the winter blues, dry in patches and also lacking any kind of glow. After a few days I noticed that my skin was feeling plumper, and definitely more hydrated. The first place it was most obviously hydrated was my forehead which at the ripe age of 30 fine lines are appearing (yuck!). It is also where I can tell if my skin is dehydrated because makeup wont apply smoothly it has oily outbursts. The price point of the products is quite high and not in everybodys budgets but if you can afford to splurge on skin care then the Nutri-Define range is absolutely an amazing way to do so. I am going to be very sad when I come the end of these gorgeous little luxe pots of skin care gold.

Beauté Gazette LOVES Jurlique Super Serums!

Firstly here is a little bit of Serum 101 for dummies:
What is a serum? Serums are a higher potency gel or liquid which contain strong active ingredients like peptides, antioxidants and vitamins than your regular moisturiser. They are designed to deposit these high potency ingredients on skin which penetrate deeper into the skins layers.
What is the difference between a Moisturiser and a Serum? A moisturiser in the most simple sense is a lubricator for the skin to prevent dryness, often times indigents are added to give more benefits to the skin like SPF and vitamins. Moisturiser sits on the surface of the skin and hydrates any dryness accruing on the top 3 layers of skin which are visible to the eye and touch. Serums don't give slip and moisture to the skin, they often are absorbed into this skin within seconds to penetrate into the deeper layers, so they do not give that nice slippery moisturised feel to the skin.
Jurlique serums are intensely gorgeous to use, I have been pure serum heaven trialling these products to review. Like I explained above the serums are absorbed into this skin within seconds and they are undetectable under moisturiser and makeup which makes them perfect for morning and nightly application. Jurlique's serums are free from artificial colours, fragrances, Parabens, PEGs, and sulphates.

Jurlique Purely Age-Defying Firming and Tightening Serum $95.00
Part of Jurlique's newest 'Purely Age-Defying' line which is targeted at skin over the age of 25 which needs some help in retaining tightness and firming. The ingredients include a potent blend of botanicals including Oat Kernel extract, Beech Tree Bud extract and Tapioca starch. This is great anti-aging booster step to your skin care routine by adding this serum under your favourite moisturiser morning and night as an extra step to skin age gracefully.

Jurlique Rose Moisture Plus Daily Moisture Serum with Antioxidant Complex $70.00
If you suffer from extremely dry skin then this is the serum for you, rich in Rose hip Fruit Oil which is lightweight rich in essential fatty acids. It also contains linoleic and linolenic acids which are known for their powers to restore skins hydration and balance any over oily or dry areas. My favourite ingredient is Evening Primrose Oil is rich in Omega 6 essential fatty acids and antioxidants to rebalance dryness. Green Tea Extract helps maintain a smooth, balanced and radiant skin complexion by protecting the skin from environmental damage. It also smells like a field full of delicate french roses, I applied this to my friend before her makeup on her wedding day, the smell was so calming and the ingredients helped neutralised her skin from the happy tears throughout the day.

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Advanced Eye Serum $58.00
If a potent antioxidant eye treatment serum is what you are in need of this will penetrate deeper then your average eye cream. Enriched with Jurlique's exclusive Naturevive PB18+ complex which is a blend of powerful antioxidants and fatty acids to help reduce the signs of fatigue, minimise the appearance of fine lines and dehydration. I like to apply this sparingly as it is a teeny weeny bottle, around the eye area at night under my nightly slathering of Argan oil before bed.

Please comment below on any burning questions about serums or skin questions, and I can try to answer them or google an answer which might help.

Day Moisturizer:
Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream $71.99
This non irritating face moisturiser has kept my skin at hydrated without stinging or breaking me out. When applying this moisturiser my skin doesn't change at all, it doesn't go red and blotchy because of fragrance, like most moisturisers I tried this year. I LOVE IT! The size is also great, it has lasted for over 3 months and  I am only just half way through the tube, which makes the $71.99 price tag completely worth it.
Available from www.dermalogica.com.au

Night Cream:
Jurlique Herbal Recovery Advanced Serum $75.00/30ml $165.00/100ml
The reason I haven't included this serum in the photo is because I have very very sadly finished my bottle. Holy Moly applying this serum is the most heavenly cooling and comforting night time ritual I have had all year. My skin was noticeably brighter and more radiant when using this serum and I am saving my pretty penny's to buy another bottle ASAP!
Available from www.jurlique.com.au

Eye Treatment:
The Body Shop Elderflower Cooling Eye Gel $17.95
Thick eye creams are not my thing, often they sting my eyes because of the potent ingredients. The Body Shop Elderflower Cooling Eye Gel tightens the eye area without stinging and is fragrance free, for the amazing price this is my all time favourite eye gel and has been for the past year and a half.
Available from www.thebodyshop.com.au

Serum and Oil:
Kosema Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil $24.95
Rose Hip Oils have been quite buzzy this year, Miranda Kerr claimed it gave her skin its signature glow. Rose Hip Oils have been popping up on the market by brands this year it is hard to pick one from another. My pick is Kosema it is certified organic, made in Australia with all the ingredients being ethically sourced - setting it apart from its competitors on the shelves.
Available from www.kosmea.com.au

Face Mask:
Alpha H Liquid Gold Smoothing and Perfecting Mask $56.70

The smoothing and perfecting mask draws out blemishes and leaved skin feeling super smooth when rinsed off. Available from www.ry.com.au

Exfoliator:
John Plunkett Glyco Peel $28.95
Not a traditional exfoilator but 2013 was all about the chemical exfoliator. John Plunketts Glyco Peel contains 25% Glycolic Acid which when applied tingles the skin gently removing any dead skin cells lingering around the surface. Chemical exfoliants are much more gentle on your skin rather  than granulated scrubs which can burst capillaries and drag skin loosening collagen stores underneath.
Available from www.plunketts.com.au

Toner:
Uriage Tolederm Soothing Cleansing Water $29.99
Traditional toners were tossed away this year, favouring cleansing waters which purify skin and remove any last traces of makeup. Uriage Tolederm Soothing Cleansing water is my french magic water of choice.
Available from www.priceline.com.au

BODY:

Body Moisturiser:
Molton Brown Ylang Ylang Body Lotion $45.00
Molton Brown is a very posh-totty British brand which I am in totally in lust with. The fragrances are too die for and the body lotions are heavenly, non sticky and super hydrating. The price tag is a little indulgent but I justified it by making a pact to myself that if I bought a $45.00 moisturiser that I couldn't be lazy and I had to use it everyday.
Available from www.moltonbrown.com.au

Body Oil:
Jurlique Rose Oil $50.00/100ml
Ohhhhhh baby! This multi tasker oil is so beautiful to use, as a massage oil (sexy!), a glowing body oil or a couple of drops in a bath it leaves skin so soft and smooth.
Available from www.jurlique.com.au

Self Tanner:
St Tropez Gradual Tan $20.50
After a skin cancer scare in December I have been all about a fake bake. St Tropez Gradual Tan is the best I have trialed, non ompa-lompa orange and leaves you without that signature biscuit scent. Applied on alternate days it will give you a natural - well as natural as you can from a bottle - tan.
Available from www.beautybay.com

Sunscreen:
Milk Dry Touch Sunscreen 30+ with Tea Tree and Aloe $12.95
I love this sunscreen, it is not greasy and smells of tea tree which is a lovely change from stinky spf's. You need to reapply before and after swimming and every couple of hours if you are out in the sun. It also doesn't clog the pores or break me out which most lower price point sunscreens do.
Available from www.milkandco.com.au

Body Exfoliator:
Lush Rub Rub Rub $12.95
To remove self tanners my favourite body scrub is Lush's Rub Rub Rub! It is filled with sea salt and feels extremely satisfying to use, scented with my favourite Lush soap 'Dirty' it ticks all the boxes.
Available from www.lush.com.au

Body Wash:
Dr Bronners liquid soap in Limited Edition Green Tea $8.95
I love this liquid soap, it isn't a traditional body wash but if you suffer from eczema or psoriasis like I do the you need to try the Dr Bronners range. Fun Fact: this also doubles as my favourite brush cleaner.
Available from www.lateralfood.com

Bath:
Lush Tisty Toasty Bath Ballistic $6.75
I rediscovered Lush's bath bombs this year after a 15 year hiatus I am addicted once again. Smelly, colourful baths have been so much fun this year. With the limited edition releases I have amassed quite the selection but Tisty Toasty is my fave.
Available from www.lush.com.au

Deoderant:
Nivea Pearl and Beauty Roll on $3.89
I am a loyal and faithful Capricorn and I do not stray from this deodorant! I cannot and will not use another deodorant. This is perfect.

Fragrance:
Roses de Chloé EDT $140.00/75ml
If you haven't noticed already I have am having a lifelong love affair with roses and when Chloé released Roses de Chloé I went a little bit crazy! It was love at first smell and I have worn it everyday since.

Christmas Gift Guide : Best gifts for Mothers who deserve to be spoilt.

Every year since I was little my Mother has said all she wants for Christmas is 'a home made card and a cup of tea in bed' which is painfully sweet and humbling but we all know that every Mum deserves to be spoilt on Christmas day. And as advent calenders get eaten and the countdown to Christmas is getting nearer it is totally handy that all the gifts featured below are available online (click the link below the image) and are under $100!!!

Jurlique Sugar Spiced Eco Candle $35.00 available from www.jurlique.com.au and from Jurlique Stores
This candle is of a more sophisticated festive ilk, housed in a very decor friendly chocolate frosted glass jar. The scent is powerful enough to fill a room with it's beautiful spiced cinnamon and brown sugar smell, Jurlique sure knows how to make a delicious smelling candle.

ASOS Leather iPad Case in Metallic Crackle $47.61 available from www.asos.com
One of the best things my Mum ever did was buy an iPad, she is obsessed with it and is on it constantly cheeking Twitter, reading the news and sending me cute animal stories from smh.com. iPad accessories can be drab, boring and way too over priced, this gold leather case ticks all the practical and glamours boxes a tech savvy Mother needs.
Korres Nourishing Almond and Linseed Hair Mask $19.05 available from www.asos.com
Some Mother's are not into the glitz of perfume and cosmetics as gifts but still love a little indulgence from time to time a face or hair mask is perfect gift for the au'naturale Mother. Korres is a Greek brand made of naturally derived ingredients which smell divine, this hair mask is really nourishing and great for dry or damaged hair and the packaging is a cool as a cucumber.

Mason Pearson Handy Bristle and Nylon Hair Brush $99.00 available from www.victoriasbasement.com.au
This hair brush is very nostalgic for me, it was the brush my mother used to comb the knots out of my hair before school everyday. Mason and Pearson brushes are a complete luxury and I know there are much more affordable brushes on the planet but these last for years and years and the bristles keep your hair really shiny and healthy. If you search around online there are lots of sites which offer them at dramatically cheaper prices,so my advice would be to buy online.
Farmer Jo Muesli from $14.95 available from www.farmerjo.com.au
Farmer Jo Muesli is soooooo tasty, it is like a muesli party in your mouth. If your Mum likes indulgent organic foods or you are just looking for a delicious stocking stuffer then look no further. I love the Burnt Fig and Cinnamon flavor and am looking forward to munching on a bowl of it on Christmas morning whilst we open our pressies together.
This Works. Sleep Balm Beauty Bauble $22.85 available from www.asos.com
The ultimate present would be to give my Mother back all the sleepless nights I have given her growing up, this being impossible an extremely amazing nights sleep to make up for it is my only option. This Works. Sleep Balm has the most soothing and calming scent, and when rubbed on your pulse points makes you drift off within minutes, perfect for over tired and over worked Mums.

Christmas Gift Guide : The girlfriend who has it all....

Are you in a relationship with the girlfriend that 'has it all? Oh limited edition this and special release that are her pride and joys sitting the closet like little trophies. Everyone knows the type, and it can be daunting to say the least when it comes to trying to buy these type of girlfriends a Christmas pressie. So here is my guide to buying a gift for the Girl who has it all, did I mention all the items are available online and are under $100! Say What?!

Mary Katranzou for Rodial Candle $66.66 available from www.asos.com
Does your girlfriend burn Dipyque candles around the house making the lounge room look like a catholic church? Sounds like she is a candle snob, sorry but you are going to have to dabble in the candle stakes a little with this pressie. Mary Katranzou is a very on trend British designer who is known for her hypnotising bright mirrored prints teaming up with Rodial she has designed this very coveted candle. I have no idea what this smells like, but I want it! If she is like me this will be on her candle Christmas lust list because who can say no to an ultra cool fashion-beauty colab, not me!
Stella McCartney Marguerite Riding Set Soft Cup Bra $85.70 and Knickers $47.61 available from www.asos.com
Underwear is a tricky present to buy for a girlfriend, even if you have snooped in her underwear draw  checking what size she is, a 32C can change between brands so it's just best not to go there. My advice would be to buy a soft-cup bra which will allow for a margin of error in sizing. *WARNING* do not buy your girlfriend anything too sexy if she is a basic t-shirt bra and cotton undies type girl, she will be mortified and embarrassed. This Stella McCartney pink leopard print set is the perfect cute and slightly sexy set to give a girl who likes fashion or is crazy about leopard anything.
The Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom Hat Box $49.95 available from www.thebodyshop.com.au
In relationships past I have set a $50.00 present limit with my boyfriend so that it didn't get uncomfortable, especially if you are young or studying and on a tight budget. Gift sets are perfect in situations like these, fuss free and easy to find at any mall. My favourite this year is The Body Shop's Japanese Cherry Blossom Hat Box Set it is filled with a selection of products from the line and a handy exfoliating face towel, the box is oh so sweet and can be reused as a cute memento storage box.
Roses De Chloé EDT 30ml $80.00 available from www.davidjones.com.au
If you are going down the fragrance path of gift buying this Christmas my suggestion would be to smell your girlfriends other perfumes and pick something similar. If she is into light floral scents then Roses De Chloé is my pick, it's totally brand new so there is no way she could already have it in her collection. It comes in a classically beautiful bottle with a pretty pink bow, perfect for the girliest of girlfriends.
ASOS 3D Greeting Card  'I love you' $5.71 available from www.asos.com
Sometimes all you need to give is a card at Christmas but like every other woman on the planet I cannot stand stupid joke cards with lame and annoying jokes and cartoons on the front. If you want to give someone you love a card it doesn't have to be cheesy but it can be super cool like like 3D card from ASOS which will make any hard to buy for girlfriend's heart melt.
Jurlique Limited Edition Rose Body Oil 200ml $78.99 available from www.jurlique.com.au
Ohhhh la la! If your girl is into body products and you want to give her a slightly sexy gift that keeps on giving - if you know what I mean.... Jurlique's Limited Edition Rose Body Oil is a super sexy luxurious gift which will give you a million brownie points guaranteed. It can be used as a massage oil or as an ultra hydrating daily moisturiser, sinking into the skin leaving you with amazing soft dewy skin.

That's why all of the gift suggestions below are available to buy online and even better are under $100!!!

Jurlique's Essence of Rose Roller Ball is a very classic, pure scent encased in an extremely convenient roller ball applicator - perfect to pop in your hand bag. Applying fragrance from a roller ball to your pulse points, feels more intense and lasts a lot longer than a spritz from a spray bottle. Rose is making a resurgence on the fragrance scene at the moment, a throw back to sophisticated and clean traditional scents with a single crisp note. If your bestie is perfume obsessed this is a cute new take on a classic she will totally love.

ASOS iPhone 5 Case with Oversized Crystals $22.18
Available from www.asos.com
Anyone who knows me, knows I am freakin' obsessed with cute and bedazzled phone cases, the bigger and more sparkly the better! ASOS has some pretty cool iPhone cases at the moment, from the mildly tame to the O.T.T blinged out case above. This is the perfect gift for a tech-head B.F.F who also doesn't mind a crystal or 10!

DKNY Wish List Cheeky Boxed Long Sleeved PJ Set $83.18
Available from www.asos.com

Cute PJ's are a great gift to give your travel buddy, ready to pack into her overnight bag for your next adventure together. These DKNY bright pink leopard print PJ's from ASOS are also ideal for a slumber party, lounging about watching movies on the couch together whilst eating enormous amounts of Christmas chocolate.

Orly Sashay My Way Nail Polish $18.95
Available from www.orlybeauty.com.au
Nothing says 'Best Friends Forever' like glitter nail polish...Nothing! Especially if you are on a budget and $20 is your limit. Orly make a great selection of glitters but nothing is more christmas-y and festive than gold glitter. If you haven't seen the 'Festive' Mariah Carey YouTube clip watch it immediately...HERE! And bring on some festive cheer.

Grown Alchemist Intensive Hydra-Body Gift Set $19.95
Available from www.grownalchemist.com
Grown Alchemist has released some amazing bang-for-your-buck gift sets my favourite is the 'Intensive Hand Cream in Persian Rose and Argan Extract & Intensive Body Cream Rose Damascena Acai and Pomegrante' combo which is all wrapped up with a chic black satin ribbon. Also a great gift idea that wont break your bank for anyone who is obsessed with chic skin care that usually costs more than half your weekly rent.

Coming up next week in Beauté Gazette's Christmas Gift Guide series: What to give a Mum who always says every christmas 'Darling just make me a card and bring me a cup of tea in bed'.

Jurlique's iconic Rosewater Balancing Mist is filled with magic powers, it sat on my desk for 3 years when I was working in a very high-stress environment. WHAT'S IN MY BATHROOM? A sticky beak into the products I have on high rotation this month.

With being sent so many different samples and also having a serious shopping addiction when it comes to skincare it is hard to finish products, too excited to crack open a new moisturiser or serum to find out if it is the 'one'.
My bathroom sink is a high rotation runway for my favourite products for you all to take a good hard sticky beak at:

Aésop Ressurection Aromatique Hand Wash 500ml $40
Ok it's not 100% necessary to have such expensive hand wash BUT I like to have nice things OK?!
And although I am not such a fan of Aésop's facial skincare, I love this hand wash to bits.
Available from www.aesop.com

Aésop Rind Concerntrate Body Balm 500ml $103.00
After using this body balm I feel like I have been running through sunny Sicilian orange fields. It is so fresh and creamy but doesn't leave you with that sticky gross moisturiser feeling after you have applied it.
Available from www.aesop.com

Annick Goutal Petite Cherrie EDT 100ml $124.43
This is my favourite perfume ever, I bought my first Annick Goutal perfume in Paris over 5 years ago and ever since then my love affair has continued. It is not a bold scent at all, not too sweet and floral and not too spicy...its just right.
Available from www.feelunique.com

MoroccanOil Light Oil Treatment for Hair (Sample Size) $53.29 for 100ml
This is a newbie I am trying out, the original MoroccanOil I love using as a hair mask treatment but I wanted to try the light version for everyday hydration and taming, so far so good.
Available from www.feelunique.com

Dermalogica UltraSmoothing Eye Serum 15ml $69.00
Wowzers, this stuff is amazing. I have been applying every night before bed and I have noticed so much more hydration in the skin around my eyes. The little bumps that come up when I am tried or stressed have reduced and the skin is looking a less puffy and swollen.
Available from www.dermalogica.com.au

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Advanced Serum 100ml $165
This is Jurlique's new and very much improved Herbal Recovery Advanced Serum, and I am now truly a devotee. A couple of weeks ago I was suffering from some very annoying breakouts around my chin and forehead, I started using this serum and within days I have noticed an improvement - also the scaring and darkness from healing spots healed so much faster than normal. My skin drinks it up overnight and feels so soft in the morning from it. And hello pretty packaging!
Available from www.jurlique.com.au

Nivea Pure & Natural Soothing Day Cream 50ml $12.99
Day creams are something I struggle with, most leave my skin too greasy to apply makeup on top off and then throughout the day my face becomes an oil slick. This Nivea soothing day cream applies smoothly and then sinks into the skin leaving an almost matte texture, so makeup glides on without caking or sticking. Also I haven't broken out from it which is a plus. Oh and its only $12.99!

Beauté Spritzing

Spritzing is a very frivolous step in a woman's beauty routine, a step which if anyone sees you doing it they will think you are a crazy lady who may own 15 or more cats.
As frivolous as it is, I could not live without my beauty spritzing! They make long haul travelling almost tolerable, cool and calm my hot face in summer heat, hydrate and tone my pores before bed and keep makeup looking dewy fresh all day long.
Here is my guide to spritzing to avoid fritzing!

MAC Fix + $27.00/30ml
At first I didn't know what to do with this, I tried to spray my face before applying makeup as a sort of priming toner which was a total disaster and caused my makeup slide right off my face. Then I reached for it by mistake and spritzed my face after applying my makeup and bam it was like a magic dewy fairy had waved a wand and given me the freshest skin in all the world. This is great if you want to change a matte finish foundation into a more dewy look to give a 'natural' makeup look.

Avéne Thermal Spring Water $22.95/300ml $17.95/150ml
It is french water in a can. Yes that's right. But I love this stuff! It is great for the beach or if you are going on a long walk where you are going to get all hot and red faced. Just a spritz of this and it brings down your temperature and cools everything down.
Also in summer I wear heaps of sunscreen and sometimes when you get hot it feels like the sunscreen is just melting into your pores and you are a big slippery mess, this counter balances it and brings your skin back to life.

Jurlique Rose Water Balancing Mist $24.00/30ml $35.00/50ml $39.00/100ml
I love this as a toner, Rose is a natural anti inflammatory and has a slight antiseptic qualities. Keeping this by your bed and spritzing before night before your night cream is really refreshing and the scent is so sweet and calming also I used to keep this on my desk at work to spray throughout the day when the air-conditioning was taking its toll on my skin.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir $16.85/30ml $40.80/100ml
Nervous and stressed travellers this spritz is heavens sent, thank goodness! When you feel like you are going to crumble into a mess of tears after a 15 hour flight followed by a 4 hour layover in Singapore and all you have to look forward to is another 9 hour flight then a bus coach for 2 hours till your head falls on a lumpy hotel pillow there is only one thing that will help Caudalie Beauté Elixr. It smells like peppermint and essential oils which calm you right down and the formula is hydrating and makes everything in the world OK!
available from www.feelunique.com
